A Day of Trades, Tacos, and True Canadian Fun πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Today at camp was the kind of day that reminds us why summer is so unforgettable β€” a perfect mix of laughter, learning, and a touch of maple syrup.

We kicked things off with a hearty breakfast to fuel us for the adventures ahead. The spread? Crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, and yogurt to balance it all out. With full bellies and high spirits, we jumped into our morning lessons, sharpening our skills and setting the tone for an energized day.

By lunchtime, we headed out on a fun excursion to the mall, where we indulged in plates of pasta and slices of pizza β€” carbs were necessary for what came next: The Red Paper Clip Challenge.

Armed with only a single red paper clip, each group set out to see what they could trade for, using nothing but creativity, charm, and a whole lot of perseverance. The results were nothing short of amazing. By the end of the challenge, we had traded our humble clip for:

  • A digital photo frame

  • A vintage framed photo of Banff

  • A mug

  • A rug from Peru

  • And even a piggy bank (with coins inside!)

The teamwork and determination we saw during this challenge were incredible. Students stepped out of their comfort zones, negotiated like pros, and proved that with a little grit and imagination, small things can lead to big rewards.

After our trading adventures, we turned up the heat in the kitchen. It was time to chef it up! On the menu: beef tacos packed with flavor and love. Then came the Canadian snack initiation β€” we all tried ketchup chips. Safe to say, we’re officially Canadians now, eh?

To top off the night, we dived into an intense and hilarious game of Werewolf. Accusations flew, alliances formed, and no one was safe β€” it was the perfect way to end a high-energy, high-fun kind of day.

We laughed, we learned, we traded, we tasted, and most of all, we came together as a camp community. Here's to more days like this one!
