A Full Day of Fun, Learning, and Team Spirit at SAIT

Our first full day at SAIT was a perfect mix of learning, activity, and connection—setting the tone for the exciting journey ahead. From early morning classes to an evening scavenger hunt across the Calgary campus, every moment brought something new. And by the end of it all, one student stood out above the rest—Kazi, our well-deserved Student of the Day.

The day began with a warm breakfast, giving everyone a chance to fuel up and connect with classmates. Over coffee, eggs, and pancakes, we chatted about where we were from, what brought us to SAIT, and what we were excited about. It was a relaxed way to start, and the perfect lead-in to our first academic sessions.

We jumped into our first lesson and a half right after breakfast. It was a lot of information, but also engaging—our instructors were welcoming, and it felt good to finally begin the learning journey we came here for. After that, we broke for lunch, which was a welcome pause to recharge and catch our breath.

Following lunch, we returned to finish the second half of our lesson, then moved into one more class session in the afternoon. Though it was a full academic schedule, the balance of structure and support made the day go smoothly. Plus, we knew some fun was just around the corner.

Once classes wrapped up, it was time to get outside. We kicked things off with basketball on the outdoor courts. The sun was still shining, and the energy was high. Whether you were sinking shots or just learning how to dribble, everyone joined in. The court echoed with laughter, friendly competition, and team cheers.

Right after basketball, we grabbed our gear and jumped into ball hockey, also outside. The pace was fast, the games were exciting, and even those who had never played before gave it a solid effort. There were a few impressive goals, even more impressive saves, and a whole lot of fun.

After working up an appetite, we sat down together for dinner, sharing stories from the day and getting to know each other even better. But the day wasn’t over yet—the final adventure was just about to begin.

As the evening settled in, we began our scavenger hunt around the SAIT campus in Calgary. Armed with clues, maps, and plenty of team spirit, we raced around campus solving puzzles, finding landmarks, and snapping photos. It was the perfect way to explore the school, learn our way around, and build camaraderie with our classmates.

And through it all, one person stood out: Kazi. From participating actively in class, showing leadership during sports, to helping his team crush the scavenger hunt, he brought enthusiasm, kindness, and focus to everything. Naming him Student of the Day was an easy choice.

It was a packed day—but an unforgettable one. If this is just the beginning, we can’t wait to see what’s next at SAIT.
