Arrival Day Adventures at Wynchemna!

Today marked the exciting beginning of another unforgettable summer at Wynchemna English Camp! Throughout the day, students arrived in Calgary from all around the world, with new faces joining us at all different times. Every arrival brought fresh energy, excitement, and the start of new friendships waiting to happen.

We kicked off the morning with a delicious homemade breakfast where students rolled up their sleeves and helped cook eggs and bacon together. It was the perfect way to start the day and gave everyone a chance to get comfortable in their new surroundings while enjoying a classic Canadian breakfast.

After breakfast, the fun officially began with a few rounds of UNO, where competition quickly heated up and plenty of laughter filled the room. The excitement continued with foosball and air hockey tournaments, as students challenged each other and showed off their impressive skills. Whether cheering from the sidelines or battling for tournament glory, everyone got involved.

By lunchtime, we headed over to the SAIT campus, our home for the summer, where students enjoyed a tasty meal while getting their first look at the place where they will be living, learning, and making memories over the coming weeks. The beautiful campus quickly started to feel like home.

In the afternoon, we headed out to the soccer pitch for some friendly soccer and football games. The sunny Calgary weather made for a perfect afternoon outdoors, and students enjoyed stretching their legs after long journeys to Canada.

As more students arrived throughout the day, the group gathered for a lively game of Spoons that had everyone laughing and racing to grab a spoon before someone else could. To cool off from the summer heat, we then headed to the pool for some refreshing fun in the water.

Back on campus, students participated in icebreaker activities to learn each other's names, share stories, and start building friendships that will last long after camp ends.

After changing for the evening, we picked up dinner from Subway and carried our meals all the way up to the 14th floor to enjoy the spectacular views of Calgary while we ate. With snacks, great conversations, and a beautiful sunset over the city, it was the perfect way to end our first day together.

To finish the evening, we took a relaxing walk around campus before students headed back to shower, settle into their rooms, and enjoy some well-earned time to relax.

What an incredible start to the summer—we can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
