The Bittersweet Goodbye!

After four unforgettable weeks of learning, laughter, and new friendships, our Wynchemna ESL summer camp came to a joyful (and slightly emotional) close today. Our final day was packed with celebration, reflection, and fun — the perfect send-off for the amazing students who made this camp so special.

We started the morning on a thoughtful note by writing airport letters to each other — personal messages filled with kind words, inside jokes, and heartfelt goodbyes. It was beautiful watching students express themselves with the English skills they’ve worked so hard to develop over the past month. There were smiles, a few happy tears, and lots of paper folding!

Lunchtime brought a serious upgrade: juicy, flame-grilled burgers that had everyone going back for seconds. There’s something about a good burger on a summer day that just hits different — especially when shared with new friends.

Then it was time to dive into the fun — literally! Our pool party at the hotel was a splash-filled highlight, complete water games, and enough sunshine to make every moment golden. The perfect way to cool off and celebrate all the progress our students have made.

After toweling off and changing, we gathered for Graduation. Each teacher proudly presented certificates to their students, recognizing their growth, effort, and enthusiasm. It was a proud moment for all of us — teachers and students alike.

One of the most memorable moments came after the ceremony, when students received high-quality printed portraits — the kind you’d expect from a professional photo studio (we still can’t remember what they’re called!). Everyone eagerly began trading pictures, collecting signatures and messages from their new friends like cherished souvenirs.

Dinner brought us to Boston Pizza, where the tables were filled with laughter, stories, and — of course — incredible pizza. From pepperoni classics to adventurous toppings, every bite was a celebration.

Finally, we ended our magical day with an epic dance party. With the music pumping and the lights low, everyone hit the floor to dance, sing, and enjoy the final moments of camp. From shy movers to full-on dancefloor stars, it was the perfect way to end an unforgettable summer.

To all our Wynchemna campers: thank you for bringing your energy, courage, and kindness. We hope you leave with stronger English, amazing memories, and lifelong friendships.
