Making the Most of a Rainy Day

Today we started off with a well-deserved sleep-in — breakfast wasn’t until 10:00 AM, so everyone got a chance to rest and recharge. Breakfast was our usual tasty spread of eggs, bacon, yogurt, granola, fruit, and toast. It was a great way to kick off a cozy, rainy day.

The morning included two lessons that were especially productive. Everyone was focused and engaged, and it’s been amazing to see the progress the students are making with their English. After class, we headed to the SAIT cafeteria for lunch, where we had a variety of delicious options like beef curry, pork chops, mashed or roasted potatoes, rice, and vegetables. There was something for everyone, and the students definitely left satisfied.

After lunch, we had our third lesson of the day, and the group stayed motivated despite the weather. We had originally planned to go kayaking and play some softball, but due to the rain, we had to cancel both outdoor activities. Instead, we headed to the mall for a relaxed afternoon. The students enjoyed walking around, exploring stores, and doing a bit of shopping. It turned out to be a fun way to spend the rainy afternoon.

For dinner, we made a stop at A&W — a favorite Canadian fast-food chain. Everyone enjoyed their burgers, fries, and root beer before we hopped on the bus and made our way back to SAIT. Once we were back, the students had a bit of free time to relax, hang out, and get ready for bed.

It wasn’t the day we originally planned, but it turned out to be a fun and memorable one. Tomorrow is packed with activities, so everyone’s getting a good night’s sleep for another exciting day ahead!
