Sports and Spaghetti: A Summer Camp Favorite

What a day! We kicked things off with a lively breakfast where the room buzzed with chatter. With every meal, students are getting more comfortable speaking English and asking questions. It’s awesome to see new friendships growing already.

After breakfast, it was off to our morning lessons, where we dove into conversations about our families, the symbols that represent our home countries, and even got a fun preview of what to expect when we visit the Calgary Stampede. With our trip coming up, the excitement is definitely building!

The afternoon brought a big burst of energy as we headed to our sports rotations. Students cycled through golf, frisbee, and climbing, trying out new activities and giving it their all. There were moments of focus, lots of laughs, and plenty of high-fives as everyone encouraged each other to try something new and push their limits. The climbing wall was a definite highlight, and some surprise frisbee skills made an appearance too!

After all that movement, we were more than ready for dinner, and Boston Pizza did not disappoint. Plates of pasta, big smiles, and lots of good conversation made for a perfect mealtime break.

We wrapped up the day with one more lesson back at SAIT, and even after such a full schedule, our campers were still bringing their best focus and energy. Seriously impressive!

To close out the evening, we gathered for our nightly meeting and celebrated two standout students for their amazing attitude and effort today: Ivy and Sean. Way to go!

The countdown is almost over for our Calgary Stampede adventure, can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
