High Climbs, Big Swings, and High Stakes: A Day of Thrills at Camp!

What a day! From cracking open the books to scaling high walls, driving golf balls, and running the high-stakes table games of Calgary, our campers crammed a whole week’s worth of excitement into one incredible day. We started bright and early with our usual delicious breakfast to get everyone energized. Brains fully fueled, the campers jumped straight into two morning lessons filled with lively discussions and fun hands-on activities. After working up an appetite, we made our way over to the SAIT cafeteria for a fresh, filling lunch. With bellies recharged, everyone tackled our third and final lesson of the day with great energy, setting the stage for an unforgettable afternoon!

Once class wrapped up, it was time to get moving. We returned to the rock climbing gym, but this time we leveled up the challenge by learning and practicing belaying. It was awesome watching students cheer each other on, build trust, and safely support their peers as they reached new heights on the wall. From there, we traded climbing harnesses for golf clubs and headed to the driving range. Campers worked on perfecting their stance and swing technique before competing in a lively target contest. The stakes were high, but the sweet candy prizes made every single swing worth it!

After a very active afternoon, we headed to Boston Pizza for an undisputed camp favorite: the classic pasta buffet. Carbs were refueled, stories were swapped, and laughter filled the restaurant as everyone piled their plates high. To round out the evening, we brought out the big lights back at camp for our highly anticipated Casino Night, complete with Blackjack, Poker, Roulette, Uno, Bingo, Spoons, and more! The competitive energy was off the charts, and our campers hit such a massive hot streak that the house took a serious beating, they won so much play money we almost had to shut the casino down early! It was another fantastic day in the books, and we can't wait to see what exciting adventures tomorrow brings.
