A Roaring Day in Dinosaur Country!

Today, our Wynchemna adventurers traveled millions of years back in time for one of the most exciting field trips of the summer! Before setting out, students sharpened their English skills during lessons about the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. Learning about the dinosaurs and the history of our planet gave everyone the perfect background for the incredible adventures that were waiting just outside Calgary.

After enjoying lunch together in the SAIT cafeteria, we climbed aboard the bus and headed toward the Alberta Badlands. Our first stop was the stunning Horseshoe Canyon, where students hiked through the unique landscape and explored the dramatic hills and valleys that were once home to prehistoric creatures. The scenery was unlike anything many of our campers had ever seen, and there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions, practice English, and take amazing photos.

Following a refreshing watermelon break, we visited the world-famous Royal Tyrrell Museum. Students were amazed by the enormous dinosaur skeletons, fascinating fossils, and interactive exhibits that brought Earth's ancient history to life. From giant predators to tiny prehistoric plants, every corner of the museum offered something new to discover.

To finish off our dday, we gathered at a nearby park for a delicious burger dinner before enjoying an evening of outdoor fun. Students played soccer, volleyball, and badminton, while others cooled off by running through the fountains and splashing in the water. Laughter echoed across the park as everyone celebrated another unforgettable day together.

From ancient fossils to friendly sports matches, today was packed with learning, adventure, and memories that will last long after our journey through dinosaur country comes to an end!
