"Tentertainment"- Tent Game Time!
Our day at Wynchemna Summer Camp began with the cheerful buzz of campers getting ready for another adventure-filled day. After waking up to the warm Calgary sun, we headed to breakfast, where we were treated to a hearty and satisfying meal. It was the kind of breakfast that sets the tone for the rest of the day — fresh fruit, eggs, toast, cereal, and juice: giving us all the energy we needed for what was ahead.
Following breakfast, we made our way to our English lessons. These classes have been one of the highlights of camp because they help us connect with fellow campers from around the world in a meaningful way.
Lunchtime came quickly at the University of Calgary, and it was nothing short of delicious. The University of Calgary served tasty dishes with something for everyone. Sharing a meal with our classmates gave us a chance to relax, chat about our morning lessons, and get excited for the afternoon — especially because we all knew Tent Games were coming up.
The Tent Games are a unique tradition at Wynchemna, and today’s event did not disappoint. The games are designed to help us bond with the students who will be sharing our tents during next week’s camping trip. It’s not just about playing — it’s about working together, supporting one another, and, of course, a little friendly competition.
The Tent Games were made up of a series of mini-games that tested our teamwork, creativity, speed, and problem-solving skills. From relay races to obstacle courses and team-building puzzles, each activity brought laughter, excitement, and a strong sense of camaraderie. Campers cheered each other on, came up with strategies, and celebrated both big wins and small victories. The atmosphere was full of high spirits and positive energy.
What made the Tent Games even more special was the realization that we were building more than just teams — we were building friendships. By the end of the afternoon, we all had a better sense of who our tent mates were and how we could work together when we head into the great outdoors next week.
As the sun began to set, we returned to our dorms feeling tired but happy. It had been a full day of learning, playing, and bonding — everything a great summer camp day should be. Wynchemna continues to be a place where we grow, connect, and create unforgettable memories.
