Tents, Teamwork, and Tradition: Campers Gear Up for the Great Outdoors!

What an incredible day at Wynchemna! The energy was high from morning to night as our campers officially kicked off the countdown to our upcoming camping trip next week. We started off our morning with a delicious, classic breakfast to fuel up for the day. Right after, students jumped into two engaging morning lessons. Following another fantastic lunch at the SAIT cafeteria, everyone returned for one last lesson of the day before diving right into the main event: Tent Day!

The afternoon was all about preparing for our big outdoor adventure next week. Students learned the ins and outs of setting up their tents, grabbed their sleeping bags, and met their officially assigned tent groups: The Black Bears, The Beavers, and The Moose. Once in their teams, creativity took over as each group worked together to design custom team T-shirts, compose a unique team song, and create an awesome poster to represent their squad. The teamwork and enthusiasm were off the charts!

With their team spirit locked in, it was time for our Traditional Tent Games! The competition was fierce, fun, and full of laughs. Campers gave it their all in classic events like the sponge relay, tug-o'-war, face the cookie, and many more.

After working up a huge appetite during the games, we refueled with a delicious pizza supper. To cap off an amazing day, each group took the stage to perform their original team songs and showcase their posters. The creativity, cheer, and camaraderie were the perfect end to a busy day. Everyone is thoroughly prepared, bonded, and buzzing with excitement, and we can’t wait to head out on our camping trip next week!
