A Day of Adventure, History, and Lakeside Fun!
Today was one of our biggest adventure days yet! After an early breakfast, everyone hopped on the bus and headed south for an exciting day filled with incredible sights, Canadian history, and lots of outdoor fun.
Our first stop was Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, where students learned about the rich history and traditions of the Indigenous peoples of the Canadian Prairies. It was fascinating to discover how buffalo played such an important role in their culture and survival. Before exploring the exhibits, everyone enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch, building their own sandwiches with all their favorite toppings. It was the perfect way to fuel up for the busy day ahead!
Next, we made our way to a beautiful nearby waterfall. Students stretched their legs, enjoyed the fresh mountain air, and took in the amazing scenery. There were plenty of smiles, photos, and moments to appreciate Alberta's incredible natural beauty.
Our adventure continued at the famous Frank Slide, where we learned about one of Canada's most remarkable natural disasters. Standing beside the enormous field of rocks made it easy to imagine the incredible power of the 1903 landslide, and everyone enjoyed hearing the fascinating stories behind this historic site.
To finish off an unforgettable day, we arrived at Chain Lakes, where teamwork was the theme of the evening. Students worked together to prepare and cook dinner, helping with everything from cooking to cleaning up afterward. It was wonderful to see everyone pitching in and enjoying a delicious meal together.
After dinner, the fun continued with plenty of sports by the lake, including soccer, football, and volleyball. There was lots of laughter, friendly competition, and beautiful views as the sun began to set.
A big congratulations goes to Petr, our Student of the Day! Petr showed a fantastic attitude, great teamwork, and positive energy throughout the entire day. Well deserved!
We can't wait to see what tomorrow's camping adventures have in store!
