Splashing into a great summer!

What an action-packed day at Wynchemna! We kicked things off bright and early by making our own delicious breakfast together. There’s no better way to start the morning than with good food, great conversations, and lots of laughter as everyone helped prepare the meal. Once we were fueled up, it was time to head to Southland Leisure Centre for an exciting morning of sports.

Students split into groups to enjoy basketball, squash, and badminton, giving everyone a chance to try something different. The basketball courts were filled with fast breaks and dribbles, while the squash courts echoed with exciting rallies. On the badminton courts, students showed off impressive teamwork, quick reactions, and plenty of friendly competition. It was wonderful to see everyone encouraging one another while staying active and making new friends.

After all that exercise, we had certainly earned a big lunch! We headed to Denny's, where students enjoyed a relaxing meal together while gathering around the TVs to watch the FIFA World Cup Final. The atmosphere was electric as Spain battled their way to a thrilling victory, giving our students another unforgettable soccer memory to share.

The fun didn't stop there! Next, we cooled off at the wave pool, where students spent the afternoon riding exciting water slides, jumping over waves, and enjoying the water. Smiles were everywhere as campers challenged themselves on the slides and laughed together in the waves.

Following dinner, we explored the beautiful University of Calgary campus. Students had the chance to see where many Canadian university students study, learn about campus life, and enjoy an evening walk through the grounds.

To finish off an incredible day, we held our very first two English lessons! Students jumped right into learning, meeting their teachers and classmates while practicing their English in a fun, welcoming environment. It was the perfect way to end an amazing first day, and we're excited for everything still to come at Wynchemna!
