A new adventure begins at Wynchemna!

Today marked the beginning of another incredible Wynchemna adventure as students from around the world arrived in Calgary, ready to improve their English, make new friends, and create unforgettable memories!

After checking in, everyone received their official Wynchemna welcome package, complete with a camp T-shirt, water bottle, and school supplies to help them get started. Students then settled into their new rooms, unpacked their suitcases, and met their roommates. Although many arrived feeling a little nervous, it didn't take long for smiles and conversations to fill the halls as new friendships began to form.

Once everyone was settled, we headed out for a walk around campus so students could become familiar with their new home for the next few weeks. It was a great chance to explore the area, stretch our legs after a day of travelling, and start feeling comfortable in our new surroundings.

For dinner, we enjoyed a Canadian favourite—Subway! For many of our international students, it was their very first time ordering and eating there. It was a fun opportunity to practice English while choosing toppings and customizing their sandwiches, and everyone left happy and well-fed.

The evening continued with plenty of energy as we gathered on the field for soccer, frisbee, and volleyball. Students quickly learned each other's names, laughed together, and discovered that sports are one of the best ways to make new friends, no matter what language you speak.

Before heading to bed, we came together for our very first camp meeting, where we introduced the Wynchemna team, reviewed our plans for the exciting weeks ahead, and shared what makes this camp such a special experience. With the first day complete, the excitement is only just beginning. We can't wait to see what adventures tomorrow will bring!
