Day of the Dinosaurs

What an incredible day of adventure our campers had as we explored one of Alberta’s most iconic destinations—Drumheller! From breathtaking landscapes and prehistoric discoveries to outdoor games and a delicious barbecue, the day was packed with unforgettable experiences.

We started the day by hiking through the spectacular Horseshoe Canyon, where campers were amazed by the dramatic scenery of Alberta’s Badlands. As we followed the trails, students took in the incredible views, explored the unique landscape, and captured plenty of photos along the way. It was the perfect opportunity to experience one of the province’s most beautiful natural attractions.

Our adventure continued at the world-renowned Royal Tyrrell Museum, where campers stepped back in time to discover the fascinating world of dinosaurs. Towering skeletons, ancient fossils, and interactive exhibits sparked everyone’s curiosity as students learned more about Alberta’s rich prehistoric history.

After a day of exploring, we gathered outdoors in Drumheller for a classic summer barbecue. Campers enjoyed freshly grilled burgers while relaxing together and sharing stories from the day’s adventures. The fun didn’t stop there—students spent the afternoon playing volleyball, soccer, and frisbee, making the most of the beautiful weather and enjoying some friendly competition. The games brought lots of laughter, teamwork, and plenty of opportunities for campers to bond with both new and familiar friends.

It was a fantastic day filled with exploration, learning, great food, and outdoor fun. From hiking through the Badlands and discovering dinosaurs to enjoying burgers and playing sports together, our campers created memories that will last long after summer ends. We can’t wait for the next adventure at Wynchemna ESL Summer Camp!
