Puck, Points & Prizes!!!

We kicked off our first full day at Wynchemna with a hearty and nutritious breakfast to fuel our busy schedule ahead. The morning meal included a delicious spread of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, assorted cereals, Eggo waffles, milk, and a variety of juices—something for everyone to enjoy and energize themselves for the day.

Following breakfast, the students headed off to complete their English placement tests. Everyone gave it their best effort, and we were proud to see such focus and determination from all participants. Once the testing was complete, we moved on to the check-in process. Each student received a welcome package that included a Wynchemna t-shirt, a water bottle, a personalized booklet, and other useful items to help them settle in and feel part of the community.

By midday, appetites were back in full swing, and we made our way to lunch at the Begin Tower. The meal featured a savory combination of noodles with tender beef, fresh-cut carrots and celery sticks served with ranch dressing, and refreshing juice to top it all off.

After lunch, we boarded the bus and set off for the outdoor hockey arena—a highlight of the day! Once there, students participated in skill-building drills focused on stick handling, passing, and shooting. It was amazing to see how quickly everyone picked up the techniques. After some practice, we jumped into a series of exciting hockey games where the students had the opportunity to showcase their newfound skills in a fun and supportive environment.

The afternoon fun didn’t stop there. After hockey, we headed to the mall for dinner, where students chose from a variety of delicious dishes including grilled skewers, fluffy rice, warm bread, and a drink of their choice. With a bit of time left to spare, we explored the mall, played a few casual games, and enjoyed a relaxed walk together, giving students a chance to unwind and socialize.

Upon returning to SAIT, we dove straight into an energetic and competitive scavenger hunt around campus. Students raced in teams, solving clues and completing challenges in an effort to collect the most points and claim the grand prize. The hunt was full of laughter, excitement, and teamwork.

To wrap up the evening, we held a small awards ceremony. Prizes were handed out to the scavenger hunt's winning team, as well as to our standout students of the day—Nelson, who earned the title of Male Student of the Day, and Tammy, who was recognized as Female Student of the Day. After all the excitement, students were given some well-deserved downtime to relax in their rooms and prepare for another day of adventure ahead.

What an exciting, activity-packed start to our Wynchemna journey!
