Trading, Cooking, and Connecting in Calgary!
Today was another fantastic day at Wynchemna, filled with English learning, new challenges, creativity, and plenty of delicious food! We started our morning with a tasty breakfast before heading into our English lessons. Students worked hard, practiced their communication skills, and continued building their confidence as they learned together with their classmates and teachers.
After our lessons, we headed to the campus café for a well-deserved lunch. With everyone fueled up and ready for an adventure, it was time to step outside our comfort zones and put our English skills to the ultimate test!
Inspired by the famous story of the "Red Paper Clip," students were given a simple challenge: start with a single paper clip and try to trade it with people in Calgary for something better. This meant approaching strangers, introducing ourselves, explaining our challenge, and making deals—all in English! It was an amazing opportunity for students to practice real-world communication and discover just how far a little confidence and creativity can take you. There were plenty of interesting conversations, surprising trades, and lots of laughs along the way!
After completing our trading challenge, we headed to the grocery store to pick up everything we needed for a very special dinner. Back at campus, we became chefs for the evening and worked together to prepare homemade pizza and pasta! Students chopped, mixed, cooked, and, of course, enjoyed the delicious results of their hard work.
Once dinner was finished, everyone pitched in to clean the dishes and tidy up. Then it was time to relax! We spent the rest of the evening playing board games, sharing laughs, and enjoying some friendly competition before heading off to bed.
Another unforgettable Wynchemna day in the books!
