The Great Paper Clip Game!!!

Today, we woke up bright and early, ready to take on another fun-filled day! We kicked things off with a hearty and nutritious breakfast that gave us all the energy we needed. The morning menu included scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, a variety of cereals, creamy yogurt, chocolate milk, and refreshing orange juice — a delicious start to the day!

Once we were all fueled up, we dove into two engaging and interactive lessons. The students participated in a variety of hands-on activities and games that made learning English both fun and rewarding. Laughter filled the classrooms as everyone collaborated, challenged themselves, and picked up some great new language skills along the way.

After a successful morning of learning, we made our way to the dining hall in Begin Tower for lunch. Today's meal was a hit: creamy chicken fettuccine Alfredo served with peas and carrots, crisp Caesar salad, sweet fruit cups, and a soft, chewy cookie for dessert. Everyone left the table feeling full and satisfied!

In the afternoon, we had one final lesson where students continued to build on the day’s learning through more fun activities and group work. The energy stayed high as the kids remained curious and engaged.

Then came one of the highlights of the day — The Paper Clip Game! Here's how it works: we start with a single paper clip and go door to door, politely asking if anyone has an item they’d like to trade for it. The goal is to keep trading up — and today, the students were incredibly successful! Some of the awesome items they received included a toy robot, books, candy, headphones, a wristwatch, a Thanos Infinity Gauntlet replica, and much more! The kids were thrilled with their trades, and it was a fantastic opportunity for them to practice their English communication skills in real-life situations. There were smiles, laughter, and so much excitement throughout the game.

After the game, we headed to Safeway to pick up ingredients for dinner. Each group had the chance to choose what they wanted to cook — and the results were mouthwatering! Some made pasta, others whipped up pizzas or stir-fry, and a few groups created unique dishes like pizza bites and more. The students really enjoyed preparing (and especially eating!) their meals, and it was great to see them working together in the kitchen.

We wrapped up the evening with a mix of fun indoor activities. Some played board games, air hockey, and foosball, while others got creative making bracelets, playing music, and just enjoying each other’s company. The atmosphere was full of joy, laughter, and shared memories.

To close out the day, we announced our Students of the Day — Polly and Stewart! They stood out for being incredibly helpful, always friendly, and showing great sportsmanship throughout all the day’s activities. Congratulations to both of them for being shining examples of Wynchemna spirit!

It was truly an amazing day here at Wynchemna — full of learning, adventure, creativity, and friendship. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
