Yeehaw! Cowboys, Chuckwagons, and a Whole Lot of Fun!

Grab your cowboy hats—it was time for one of the most Canadian adventures yet! After filling up with breakfast, we hopped on the bus and headed to the Strathmore Stampede, ready to experience Alberta's wild west firsthand.

The action started immediately as we watched the heart-pounding chuckwagon races. Four horses, one wagon, and lots of dust made for an event that had everyone cheering (and occasionally wondering how they managed to stay on the track!). It was fast, loud, and incredibly exciting—definitely not your average morning commute!

After all that excitement, our stomachs reminded us it was lunchtime. Thankfully, delicious Vietnamese sandwiches came to the rescue and gave everyone the energy they needed for the rest of the day. Once recharged, we explored the Western market, where students browsed everything from cowboy boots and hats to handmade crafts and tasty treats. Let's just say a few students may have started planning their future ranches!

Of course, no trip to the Stampede would be complete without more rodeo action. We watched fearless cowboys and talented cowgirls put on an incredible show with their speed, skill, and courage. Whether it was racing around barrels or showing off their riding abilities, the athletes made everything look easy... even though we all know it definitely isn't!

After an unforgettable day in cowboy country, we made our way back to Calgary—but the day wasn't over yet! We squeezed in a couple of English lessons. Finally, we wrapped everything up with a well-earned dinner at Carls Jr., ending another fantastic day at Wynchemna.

Today wasn't just about watching a rodeo—it was about experiencing a piece of Alberta's culture, making new memories with friends from around the world, and proving that everyone looks at least 25% cooler after spending a day surrounded by cowboy hats. Yeehaw!
